What cloth and should I polish

Ok I consider myself pretty good at washing, waxing and generally keeping my car in A1 condition,BUT, inevitably we all get wax on to the washer jets what do you use to remove this and how ie Auto Glym bumper Gel and a thin paint brush ? and secondly when you put Auto Glym Bumer Gel on do YOU polish it of after or lave it wet ?

Yes, you could try a small amount of the bumper gel on your washer jets. You probably need to rub hard to remove a stain.

As to whether you leave it on or not - I do as it says on the tin

I think you just rub it in and don't try and polish it off. Try to not get it on the paintwork. It won't do any harm but the next time you wash your car you may notice some greasy black marks where you've touched the paintwork. What I do is as I'm applying it I rub the edges of the black bits where it meets the paint with a clean cloth to try and remove it from the paint.

I do the same rub it on and spread it, I don't polish it off, but having visited the Auto Glym site I will try the polish off method next time. I also go around the edges with a clean cloth to remove any from the bodywork although I am very careful when I apply it.

Thanks for the reply and help.

An old soft toothbrush and some gentle handwash works on the polish in the nozzles. I use meguiars natural vinyl shine on the black bits - two coats has it lookin great - i use two cloths - a very small one to carefully go round the edges first then a normal size to re-apply to the main area.

Wul it's not in the nozzles but on the black surround, do you polish yours off or leave it wet ?

Esser - when i picked up my coop from new - the dealer had polished the car and there was white residue over the body of the washer jets and the air grilles next to the front wipers - the toothbrush/ handsoap trick got rid of the residue.

As for the vinyl treatment, i spray the meguiars stuff onto the cloth and then wipe evenly over the trim and leave it from there to dry - then reapply for extra shine. Don't know how the autoglym stuff works but i dont think you really need to buff up the meguiars stuff. also it is clear rather than black so isn't obvious on the paintworks if you happen get a bit on the paintwork.

Hope this helps

esser - i got it from www.meguiars.co.uk - it's only about £5.99 plus £0.99 for delivery per item - mines arrived next day to edinburgh after ordering it online at about 14.00 - excellent service and most of their products seem very reasonable and good.
