| Oil Canister Design
Why would they engineer the canister so poorly? It makes no sense. I bring this up because recently I was changing the oil (8 1/2 quarts) and oil filter in a 1984 MB 380 SE. It also had a canister type oil filter design, replace element just like the Mini, however no spring loaded canister, just unbolt the lid of canister, remove bolt and lid, then filter, how simple. Why would Mini want to make it more complicated? That your forced to take car in for oil change?
