Offline | Mini TLC? Just wondering (probably being really thick) about the TLC service for five years. I have had my Cooper since March and i may be covering 10,000 miles by August. Is the TLC still ok even if my car needs a service before the end of the first year? I.E. i dont need to wait till march next year do i? I seem unable to find it in manual and books. |

Offline | Not quite as it depends on how/where you drive. The car works out the service intervals based on fuel consumption. My car had it's first service at 9k, the second and third provided by TLC will be at roughly 24K then 39K - taking me about 3 years. It also provides the first brake fluid change after two years but not the second after 4. I've said on here before that although it is still great value the wording is mis-leading. Offline | This may sound silly - but if you take the first OIL service at 10K (approx) then the Inspection I at 25K, Inspection II at 40K and a brake fluid change after 2 years so in theory when is the next service after 40K (and where does the 50K fit in?) - even my dealer seem confused! Offline | The car works out your the service intervals based on the way the car is driven. In theory it's possible that you may not need your first service to say 13K miles, your next 2 could be at intervals of 18K or so taking you to 50K miles. I think that it will be a very rare event for anyone to get to 50K miles though. Most TLC packs will probably run out after ~40K miles. Confusing but still great value for only £100. You'll pay that for one interim services on most other cars - which is of course a rip-off ![]() Red/Black R56 Cooper |
