Does the MINI's engine stay clean?

I'm very particular about keeping my cars clean, inside, outside, and under the hood. I pride myself on having an almost showroom clean engine compartment on my cars - no matter how old they are there is very little of any mess of dirt, oil, grease, etc. So, anyone else out there with this same, strange affliction?

On some cars, this is easy to maintain, but on others road grime seems to easily find its way into the engine compartment.

How much of a challenge is it keeping a clean MINI engine compartment?

Looking at this picture of Paul's, it looks like it might be a constant battle.

How many bets that the last photo was the first one taken

I wouldn't worry about it getting dirty, I find that it's only the black plastic light backing type things (technical term) that collect dirt. Everywhere else in the bay is nice and clean!
