stains.....!

A bird decided to relieve itself on my car a couple of days back, more specifically on the black bonnet stripes. Anyway I cleaned it off today, but the c**p has stained the stripes leaving white 'tide marks' on the stripes which I can't get off with just soap and water.

Any suggestions as to the safe removal of the stains ? Can't believe they are there to stay ?

Ta,

Mark.

p.s. Gotta give credit to the bird ! ... the white bodywork got black c**p and the black stripes and roof got white c**p.

As your countryman Hitchcock knew, birds are far more intelligent and yes, more malevolent than we usually think. Here in Hawaii we have birds with bright red butts. Well, watch out for them. If they crap on your car, the stuff will go straight down to the primer. Hasn't happened to my MINI yet, but I park under roof where I live, and under roof where I work, and drive fast as hell in between.

Try some vinegar on a soft cloth, but rinse off straight away or autoglym car polish one of them should work.

I hope you get rid of them !.... you should try working where i do, 200 metres from the sea !!... the seagulls up here are the size of cars and have been known to cause damage by sitting on car roofs... not to mention the serious amount of cr@p they produce !!!...

I was told by a vinyl graphic shop that isopropyl alcohol was excellent for cleaning stains from the stripes.

I had an orange stain from a bug splatter on a white stripe. I asked for advice on how to clean it while at work. When I got home, the stain had magically disappeared. Weird, huh? Zaino rules!

See ya,
