I noticed today that the coolant reservoir in my MINI needs topping up. (It has done 300 miles since new)Checking out the Owner's Handbook, I found that there is no specification provided for the coolant. It mentions something about 'MINI Service' which sounds like a scam to deter punters from using Halford's, or some such, cheaper but adequate own label stuff.

Any suggestions, please?

Not all cars say in the manual. Check for a label near the pressure cap or coolant reservoir that specifies kind, amount, mix, etc...

Basically, it's the green kind (2 years) or orange kind (5 years). Probably a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water like almost every other car in the world.

Don't take a chance, call the dealer for the info if you can't find it.

Green MINI Cooper with green roof, chilli pack, sunshine roof and 2000 green Rover Mini Cooper Sport with John Cooper Works Conversion.
