I ask for a oil change service, not a 1st inspection service !!

I had my mini in for is 1st oil change service yesterday as the display on the dashboard said oil change.

When I got home I noticed the dealership had taken the 1st inspection service voucher out of my TLC pack and not the 1st oil change voucher . I looked at my service book and they have only stamped it up as having a oil change service. Why can't they ever get it right first time. I will have to give them a call on Monday as the next service will be the ist inspection service!! and I have no voucher now.

The service and after sales is what really lets Mini down, this a great story that happened to me...

I had a headlight washer cover fall off after 2 weeks, had to have a whole new washer unit fitted, well picked the car up, the cover for some reason was a lot looser than the other light and rattled, there was also a white ring on the new one when looking from under the bonnet.
Took the car back to them, checked out with them, they said not sure would look into it for me.
I got a call from them saying it was a mod/up date. hahaha, little did they known that I had since used the washer, and the jet stayed out of the light and did not retract as it should, I then figured out on my own that the white ring on the new one was not supposed to be there and was packaging only, this had caused it to fit badly and the get stcuk, so after popping this off myself it had retracted and was a tight fit as it was supposed to be. I told them all of this after they had lied to me, and they went silent!

Why can't they get things right or when they don't know why do they have to bullsh*t you, they only get found out!

I have had many problems with my dealer which I wont go into here but when I booked mine in for its oil thingy I also asked them to fix the windscreen washer ans one had broken and check the exhaust as it sounded as it was blowing.

I confirmed on the phone that the milage was withing the 1000 miles each way limit for the oil change and that it should take about an hour and that I could have a car while it was being done as it wasnt a long service. No problem.

Left the car with them, they phoned me after about 50 mins to say it was ready. They said nothing wrong with the exhaust and thay they had fixed and re-aligned the washers. Picked it up and noticed that they hadnt re-set the service count down on the milage. When back into the dealer and asked if they could re-set it and they told me they hadnt done the service! What cheak! They showed me the paper work and said that I had only signed for them to check the exhaust and fix the washer so thats all they had done!

I was so mad! but as I have had soo many problems with them before I just accepted it and thought 'typical'!

Not just that but, the washer still doesnt work properly, they have 're-aligned' them so that they get the roof wet rather than the windscreen and I swear that there is something wrong with the exhaust.

Will now be taking my car to dealership in Warrington 35 miles from home in the hope of better service... I hope...

Sorry to hear that Andrea, I thought it being a BMW dealer things would be better !... when I bought my car I said i'd bought my last from Reg Vardy, they sat laughing for 5 mins saying that Reg Vardy were cowboys etc etc... At least Reg Vardy knows what customer service means !!!... I'm having real trouble getting my problems fixed properly...

In the US, I think they are trying harder, but still not perfect! I took mine in for the sun roof rattle (WHich I understand is really the flaps vibrating and I used the soft part of velcro where the marks are to stop this!) They simply stated that they heard no noise and I knew they had driven the car because an open can of Coke was left in the tray! I told then that we did not eat in our car and even if we did, that they should not eat or smoke in a customer's car!
