United-Kingdom Wax and wash recommendations for Dark Silver Metallic?

Evening all,

Need some recommendations on wash and waxes especially for
the Dark Silver Metallic. Used Autoglym wash, wax and super protective gloss finish (I think these are the names, they are green, red and gold labelled respectively). Anyway they are good but anyone have any further recommendations?

Also has anyone tried the stuff from this website....

www.bmwax.co.uk

They do a specific mini waxing kit (clay bar jobbie). Is it really worth the extra effort?

Cheers

Jay

Without any hesitation I would recommend Zaino. It's a synthetic polish that's so much better than wax. You can do a search on Zaino here or go to...

Jimbo - unforunately zaino is only available here in the UK from a german website http://www.viper-lifestyle.de/indexengl.html but they charge double the cost than from the zaino US website - the equivalent of the total show car set £57 on the us site is £131 from them!

I have emailed zaino to see if there are any other distrubtors for the UK - will post their reply.

As for other waxes - meguiars do good carnuba waxes - www.meguiars.co.uk and at reasonable prices too!

You won't go far wrong with those. They are called Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner, Super Resin Polish and Extra Gloss Protection respectively.

We have used them for several years, but be warned that Super Resin Polish does have cut in it so you would do better to use SuperGlym if you are polishing regularly. It doesn't have cut and is a bit more tolerant than Super Resin if it gets damp when you are applying it, such as from water in the gutters.

Check www.autoglym.co.uk - Premium range is what you can buy in the shops, but unfortunately SuperGlym is in the Professional (Trade-only) range. You should be able to get it though from an Autoglym van at a good car show, but it will cost around £27 for 5 litres. I think I recall from another thread that someone found a mail-order source - try a web search.

I'm quite happy with Meguiar's. I've gotten outstanding results using their products on my Dark Silver.
