Thumbs up Meguiar's microfiber drying towel

Anyone bought one of these? I used it for the first time yesterday and the results were excellent. It's always a chore drying a car but it was a real pleasure with this beauty. A bit pricey at £14 but seems well worth it.

Hi StellaBlade,
I've got two of these cloths - they are really good. Did you get yours from www.speeding.co.uk? I tend to use a rubber scraper to remove excess water, then either a chamois/Meguairs cloth or both!

Yes I got it from Speeding. Bought all my car cleaning stuff from there, you can't go wrong with free postage!

I bought an Autoglym chamois a few months ago and it's crap, it just smears water everywhere. I could do with another drying towel really but can't afford another £14

Also got the Autoglym wheel brush. Could do with some wheel cleaner as my brake dust is cooked on and doesn't come off with elbow grease and car shampoo. I think I'll get some Wonder Wheels.

i got a no-name microfibre cloth from halfords which works a treat at soaking up water & doesnt leave any micro-scratches or swirls. i can't remember how much it was but it was no where near £14 & i think it was cheaper than a chamois. plus it goes in the washing machine & comes out like new

Have just used Meguairs claybar, polish and wax on my other's car and it's v impressive ('spesh with the claybar!). Will be waxing the Mini when it arrives.
Interested in the comment about the Autoglym chamios - have one at home in the box 'cos highly recommended by the guy in the shop that sells both Meguairs and Autoglym. Will give it a go and report.

Cheers
Dave

PS How do u pronounce Meguiars? is it like McQuires?

Go for a synthetic chammy - they do exctly the same as the real ones, but they always remain soft and don't end up looking like a poppadum.

Just tried my brand new Autoglym "chamois" and I have to agree - went back to an old (and poppadom-like) natural chamois and got muh better results. It'll go back to the shop next week for a refund. Pity really, most Autoglym stuff seems pretty good.

Just used Meguiars Gold Class shampoo for the first time today. Went on a treat and the car is gleaming beautifully. I have not waxed the car yet as it has Supagard from new (890 miles todate). I will meguiars it before the winter comes in.

Also I checked out the microfibre towel. It seems incredibly dear. I purchased 3 JML "as advertised on tv" microfibre towels from Poundstretcher today for £5. Used them and they worked a treat however nowhere near as good as a well looked after popadom!!
