Long Term will Mini2 be OK for DIY maintenance?

I have seen the new Minis in the UK. From looking at them they look like they would be not be simple to do you own maintenance on. Any thoughts on how the new Mini will be when it is 10 years old for Do It Yourself maintenance? The old minis are fairly simple to work on and I'd hope the new ones would be as well -- I'd expect that I'd need a good set of metric tools.

I'm sure that in 2012 the MINI will be no harder or easier to work on than any other 2002 model year car.
