Pure Silver Power Steering Pump

Does the power steering cooling fan stay on all the time, or is it activated when the power steering is hot, and needs cooling.

I was under my car today with the engine on, but the fan was not moving...is this normal?

Thanks.

I do not know, but I have never turned the engine off and "NOT" Heard it wind down! 2 questions, Did you have someone turn the wheel a little to see if it started and maybe only when the car knows someone is sitting in the seats and ready to move!

Neither. The aux P/S fan is wired in series with the radiator fan hi-speed relay and only is on when the radiator fan is running at high speed. So you will never see it running at idle speed in your driveway since the low speed radiator fan will keep the coolant temperature below the 105ºC temp needed for the aux P/S fan to kick in. There is no temp sensor connected to the power steering motor itself.

If you put the A/C on (which turns on the radiator's 2nd fan), the
power steering fan comes on too, I've noticed.
