Unhappy White marks on seats

Very weird this. Searched for similar threads but not found anything as yet.

Not long after we got the car we noticed some small marks on the drivers seat. The missus accused me of eating in the car but I hadn't as the car is our first brand new car we're being paranoid about getting it mucky

The marks cleaned off with a damp cloth, but over the last few days, we noticed more white marks appearing on the drivers seat.

We are 100% sure that we've not spilt or dropped anything on the seat. We've even resorted to changing our clothes before using the car in an effort to find where these marks come from. Yesterday we checked the seat, drove the car 50 miles, left it all day and when we came back to the car there was a white mark that looked like a liquid had been on the seat. The curved white streak suggested the fluid was wiped across the seat by my wife's trousers as she got out of the car.

The car has been Supaguarded (we were offered the Supaguard treatment for free), so the only thing we can think of is the heat from our bums is bringing something out of the seat and it's drying white. If this is the case though, I don't understand why it only happens on the drivers seat.

The marks don't smell of anything, it doesn't transfer to my finger and each time the mark cleans off ok with a damp cloth, but I'd really like to know why it's happening.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Neil

Oi, steady

If that was the case, as the marks look a little powdery I probably should be worried

i've noticed this also, mainly on the passenger seat and sometimes on the driver seat. Havent noticed anything on the back seats, but thats prolly because they hardly ever get used.

It's probably sweat
The white stuff is the salt deposits as the sweat evaporates

Eww, Yuk!

I'm not say we don't sweat, but to get these marks I think our bums would have to be wringing wet - which I can assure you they're not

Anyhow, thinking about it the marks appear in the middle of the seat within the V made by our legs when sitting down.

Any other ideas?

for everyone getting the marks --- do you all have leather? leatherette? The same color? All have gotten supaguard or another protectant? Lets see if there is a commonality between all cases

I've had fully leather in black and now half leather lapis both unprotected and I did/do get these marks.
I know these marks are my sweat

Must buy better anti-persperant

oh god, Martins got a sweaty BUM!!!

And I thought I would have to find another amusing comment to make about white marks on seats

Seriously, these marks do appear in mine occasionally, but don't look like sweat marks, more like a spill of something (no not that), interested to find out what they are, but also seen them appear in other cars I have owned so knows it not just a mini thing.

I have full un-treated leather if you are trying see if it is common to one sort of seat.

Could it be from the washing detergent/conditioner in your clothes??? It only appears on seats which are used

I've got white marks on the driver side bolster of my passenger seat. Non-sport cloth seats.

Anti-perspirant round yer knackers and crack?!?! Oooh, brave!

Seriously though, I don't get these on my Blue/Black Leather. I did treat mine with some Autoglym Leather care cream though.
