Help with Replacing Wheel Logo

Can anyone help me with replacing the MINI logo in the center of my 16" wheel. The first one came off somehow. It left behind a brownish paste. The replacement plaque from MINI has a peel-off backing labeled "3M ...Joining." (can't read the ... part) Should I just peel off the paper backing and slap it on? Or does it require some sort of adhesive to also be applied to the wheel where the brown stuff is now? I don't want to lose this one too.

why didn't your delaer just do it? seems like it should be a warranty issue

personally I'd clean the old crap all off and if that new decal has adhesive backing already it'd just stick it on

I couldn't bear the thought of waiting for an appointment and then having a warranty argument and then leaving it in the shop, all for a $2 sticker. So I just bought it.

I just want to make sure I don't lose this one!

if it falls off just have the order a whole new center cap under warranty which wouldn't require dropping it off
