Black Exterior Trim!

Hi all,

I wash my MCS weekly and just wondered what peeps out there use on the black plastic wheel arch, sill, spoiler trim. I currently use Armor All protectorant which I have used for years on cars and which brings the trim up nicely. However after a downpour it goes all streaky. Thought I might try some Maguires trim detail and have some on order. Has anyone found a product out there that doesn't wash off after a downpour of rain??

Thanks

Mother's Back to Black has worked real well for me. No streaking, and seems to hold up real well in rain, too.

Ooops! I have just finished a bottle of back to black and I'm happy it's gone. I found it just mediocre in lasting ability on wheel trim, rockers, etc. I rubbed that stuff in like crazy and still would have to apply more where it "soaked in" and showed the gray again. Didn't buff too well either - I use 100% terry.

So any other recommendations out there?

I have to say I've never found back to black much cop either, I've used AutoGlym and Meguiars too, and found both very good. The AutoGlym is a green gloop, and the Meguiars is a creamy paste.

Cool TRy Zaino

I used soome trim cleaner from Zaino, bought it from Steve Trece. It cleans the black trim and buffs off leaving it close to new without that greasy looking film. Dont know how it will hold up in rain but it actually seemed to clean it. It does not leave a permanent haze like a wax. I hvae found all of Zainos products to work wonderfully. Look on Carolina region post for Mini Car Clenaing Clinic in Charlotte NC. I believe teve has a post there.

I've used a variety of Meguiars' products and have found the Natural Shine vinyl and rubber cleaner/protectant to the best and longest lasting on the trim

I have had great luck on all my cars with Black Chrome. Brings back the wet black look and protects like a wax.

White Cooper

I have used Meguiars #40 Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner for a year and a half, and am completely pleased with it.

I use it for all of the exterior black trim, on the tires, on all the interior black panels including the dash, and also on the door and boot seals.

It endures very well through rain - even after washing the car, re-application wouldn't be necessary (although of course I always do!).

Another bonus that I've noticed is its seeming ability to repel dust - the exterior surfaces stay cleaner longer.

A fine product in all respects.

303 works well, and lasts a long time. But you must have good clean trim first.

I use the entire Meguiars range on my car found it to be great stuff but I do find that I take alot longer now but am very happy with the car when finished. I have used Auto glym but found meguiars to give me the best finish with a little more effort. Autoglym bumper care in a aerosol is good if your in a hurry.
Meguiar vinyl and rubber care gives a deeper matt shine but takes twice as long.

Kind regards
Sam
