Offline | what you all really need is a product from hot wheels called tyre and trim dresser. Not only does it make the tyre walls shine you can also use it on any non painted plastic items. It removes/covers up any wax that may stray on to the plastic trims. 'enry |

Offline | Meguiars new trim detailer stuff is excellent too - two coats gives a nice rich glossy look and one coat is enough to remove any wax residue too. www.meguiars.co.uk Dingdangdoo! |

Offline | Well, You can use "Black Chrome" to turn your plastic to full black after some polish had dried on it. It will be as new. But then, when applying black chrome on the plastic, I'm sure some will catch the paint of the car, which, if your car is not black, will need polish to remove. And this goes on forever ![]() |

Offline | Can you confirm the name of the Autoglym product you mention. Just checked their web site and it is not clear which product is best for removing polish from the plastic bits. Cheers. ![]() |

Offline | I used the Autogylm stuff (the green goo) but it didn't seem to last very long. When I'd just done it, it looked great and I thought my problems were over, but it seemed to soon wear off. Considering they said on the bottle that it was a few times a year thing, I wasn't impressed... Was I doing something wrong do you think..? Is there a trick to it..? |

Offline | removing wax from trim don't know if your question has been answered. i have found rubbing alchohol to work. apply to a fairly small thin cloth and put the cloth on one finger and rub it away. be careful though, or you will have the other problem. |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | Turtle Wax Black in a flash just won Auto Expresses best plastic trim cleaner. Does the tyres too. I got some the other day and works really well. Even with a trip to Coventry and back in the rain, the trim looks good. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | I'd tried Meguiars Bumper Care and Back to Black but none were able to remove the wax on my plastic. Today I used Autoglyms Bumper Care and it worked a treat, the wax stains came right off. ![]() So for wax marks Autogylms gets my vote. ![]() Global Moderator ![]() |

Offline | LMB - do you know if it's removed the wax or just covered it up? The megs stuff covers it up for a week or so but it comes back after that! Nail varnish remover (acetone) is supposed to be useful at getting rid of it! Dingdangdoo! |

Offline | It seems to be gone. The other products would cover it up for a bit but it'd always come back. Autogylms Bumper Care has not only removed the wax but it's made the plastic look as good as new. I honestly didn't think anything would shift it, I was even considering getting them painted they looked so naff. It's the only time Meguiars has let me down. ![]() Global Moderator ![]() |
