Clock-like symbol in the odometer

Hi guys...
before I start...I have a Mini Cooper with no satnav option..
okay..here is my question..
I notice there is a clock-like symbol on my odometer next to the figures that show the distance the car has travelled...so it is on the top left hand corner of the odometer...
What does that mean?

Ummm... I'm pretty sure that that is the light to indicate your cruise control is active. It's green I think. Should be able to make it toggle with the on off buttons on the steering wheel

I got Sat Nav so I'm kind of guessing but would it be your cruise control? Shows up with a green light and sort of looks like a stop watch (speedo)

Is it not related to the service interval or the brake fluid change?

When you switch on your ignition a number will be displayed which is the miles estimated until a service is required.

While that number is displayed if you press the button to reset the odometer it will display the number of days until your brake fluid needs changed.

I think if the clock is lit up then some sort of service is due.

How old is your car? Brake fluid requires to be changed after two years.

it's 2002..but it's actually dec 2001 built..

doesn't the distance shown on the odometer shows how many k's I still have before the next service? or it only shows the oil status?

When the distance to your next service is being shown press the little but that you use to reset your trip odometer.

That will display a number of days till your brake fluid (NOT oil) needs changing. Think if you have gone past the date it will appear as a - number or flash or something.

Since your car was build Dec 2001 that's more than two years so it's time for a brake fluid change.

Might be worth reading your owner's manual for a wee refresher course

Hello, the clock symbol is for the brake fluid change. If you press the trip reset button as you startup, it should display a number with a minus sign in front of it. This is the number of days since the brake fluid should have been changed. I am just about to book in my Jan. 2002 Cooper for its first b/f change. Hope this helps Damian.
