Orbital Buffers?

Hello,

I had a few newbie questions about car buffer. I have a few cars and I do my own washing. The cars are usually under covers in a garage. So I just wash them, cover them up, and use Meguairs quick detail spray once in a while.

I wax them once a year, and I have noticed that is not enough and is truly a pain to do a big car.

I read about orbital buffers all the time, and it would certainly cut down on the time to wax a car. Also this way I can wax my cars more often.

Questions:

1) Do you guys have any recommendations for good ones?

2)How much should I be looking to pay for it?

3)Is this too good to be true and am I dillusional in thinking it will be easier to keep up the cars?

4)I am new to this, so I am not sure if I can do this. I do not want to burn the paint.

5)ALso what is the difference between Orbital and PortalCable polishers?
Any thoughts would be great

6)what would you recommend for a car that has not been waxed in about 4 years, just washed once in a while? THe paint is good, but is very harsh.

Head to the detailing forum - www.autopia.org.

Everybody there pretty much uses the Porter Cable 7424 or 7336. I just purchased a 7424 in preparation for my Mini coming in April
