OIL CHANGE/SERVICE AND many other mini questions

Hello there,

Couple of mini related questions, and hoping I could get some help.

Car: 2003 MCS, 4000 miles. Oil changed by myself to mobil 1 synthetic in October 2003, when car had 3300 miles. No other bmw service has been done. Car has been driven 800 miles since last oil change, but I figure this one is free so why not take it.

Spoke to BMW dealer and was told that I qualify for the 10K free scheduled service, and I will be making an appt in 2 weeks for it.

questions:

1)Since I have Mobil 1 synthetic in the car now, and I am sure Mini will put Castrol SYn oil in the car, will it effect the car going back and forth between the oils? Any thoughts or opinions would be great.

2) Should I supply them with Mobil 1, or just let them do thier thing?

3) What is the best dealer to work with SERVICE wise in the los angeles area? I can go to Universal, Long Beach, Monrovia, and Crevier.

4)Should I expect a loaner, or just hang around the dealership? curious to know how long this takes.

5) Will also have the AIRCON stumble issue looked at. My car has no stumble/yoyo but with aircon on SOMETIMES it stumbles.

Opinions are helpful. Thank you.

-Ryan

Why did you change the oil yourself?

i wouldn't mention it to them to be honest with you!!

I changed it becuase it has been a while, and the oil was getting a bit dirty, and I did not think I qualified for the free Mini oil change, because of my low mileage. So to answer your question, piece of mind.

Oh-Would you prefer Mobil to be put into it?

I would let them stick the Castrol in it-And I would ask for a loaner if they are to sort out your Air con aswell

Yeah I am not sure if going back and forth from Mobil to Castrol does anything to the car.

If it doesn't then I don't really care. I will keep the car about 15 more years, so I want it to last, it is my first non japanese product.

However if going back and forth makes a diff, then I will supply them with Mobil 1.

I was pleased with the service I received at Long Beach - much more than Santa Ana or Monrovia. I'll be taking my 02 Mini in in April for the 25000 mile service. I also have a few nagging issues I hope they can resolve for me.
