Angry Parking scratch dilemma!!!

One of my lovely neighbours appears to have caught my black MCS whilst swinging in or out of their space. I can't prove anything but their car is white and the paint on mine is... (you guessed it) white! The bloke who washes my car knows a bodyshop who can polish it out but he will need to do the whole of the car to ensure its consistent. Polishing it out is going to take off some of the original paint and I'm not very happy about it on a 9 month old motor. Total cost £40ish.

Alternatively, I can get a quote from the delaer who will no doubt want to paint the whole side of the car at vast cost to yours truly and I understand as its a BeeEmm it will go down on their records that it has required bodywork no doubt affecting any part-ex price in the future.

Any suggestions?

Depending on how bad the scratch is, some 3M or even T-Cut might do the trick. Mine's had a massive key-scratch removed from it but that was a respray job. Personally, I would speak to the bodyshop bloke at BMW and see if he will just come out with the bottle of 3M and a rag. That stuff works wonders - and they shouldn't charge. I did this after I found a scuff mark near one of my rear light clusters.

My car now looks like it just came out the factory!!

The only thing I would say, and this is something that was pointed out to me on these very forums - be careful of what you do and where you go to get it done in terms of repair work, as you might risk invalidating your anti-corrosion warranty.

MINI Going.....Toyota Supra RZ-S Twin Turbo Coming....Standing Quarter, anyone....?
