Offline | What do you use to dust the exterior? Hi all, what are you guys using to dust off your MINI the day after washing? I park in a garage where there is dust, and by the next day there is a thin layer of fine, light dust. Is there a safe way to dust it off while it's dry? Thanks! Let me just put in a quick plug (again) for Meguiar's quick detailing spray. The shine really turns heads! ![]() |

Offline | Tip for keeping brake dust off the wheels:- don't use the brakes, if someone in front slows down just overtake them. Can play havoc with the bodywork at times though. . |

Offline | By popular acclaim: the California Duster. It is impregnated with paraffin wax and the manufacturer claims that the dirtier it gets, the better it cleans. (I love it) |

Offline | So, I believe you guys that it works, but when I read about washing the car and folks say don't use a sponge 'cause it "holds" the dirt and can then scratch the car w/ it, w/ the Cal. Duster where does the dirt go? Don't the paraffin treated strands hold the dirt and can then scratch the finish as well? |

Offline | At the auto parts store I recently picked up a packet of wipes especially designed for cleaning brake dust from wheels. I'll be swapping my snow tires for my summer tires tomorrow so I'll see how they do. |

Offline | My grandmothers chauffeur swore by these between washes http://www.kozak.com/item-kozak_cloth.htm and I must say her black Packards and Lincons always looked like show cars they were used almost every day between 1925 when he was hired and 1978 when he retired and she came to live with us for the rest of her life Her 1964 Lincon Continental with its orignal paint and 260,000 miles looked like new inside and out and she sold it to one of the movers for top dollar but I do not know how good they would be on modern paints with clear coats... she always had black cars S BRG/W Randolph 3 PAC NAV Mid Coast Maine, U.S.A. ![]() |

Offline | They're called Turtle Wax 2001 Wheel Cleaner Wipes. I just checked Turtlewax.com and they don't even have it on their own website yet. Here's a picture of them: ![]() I got them at Lappen's Auto Parts. |

Offline | Much to my wifes dismay I used one to get the dust off my rims. Worked well although it wasn't a very heavy coat, maybe a weeks worth. Although it seems to be OK to use my car stuff for house cleaning?? ![]() Microfiber cloths work well too but you need to be careful you don't mix them in with anything else. reuseable but not cheap. |
