Scotland birdlime

Hi has anyone had problems with"birdlime"I've got a cosmos black cooper and can't get birdlime off paintwork. It keeps leaving stains under laquer, which BMW/MINI say is not covered by the warranty even though nobody told us it had to be removed immediately.Car is washed and polished fanatically because we love it, but this problem is driving me mad!

This needs to be a Sticky I swear.
That is if birdlime is the same as bird poop, poo, doo doo, crap, sh*t, droppings, muck and the list goes on.
Best answer.. Liquid Glass. Unfortunately I've never read of a UK supplier.
A synthetic wax seems to hold up better than natural waxes.
Getting it off ASAP is a must but you can't always do that. I know. There's an 80' tree I have to park under next to my driveway.

Hi there - i know your problem - i too have a black mini - this problem happens to all car - it's just more noticable on black!

have a read through some of the threads on www.meguiars.co.uk - in their forum for tips - they have a product called clear coat body scrub whic is good - also keep a bottle of their quick detailer in the car to remove the offending poo asap when away from home.

good luck in the quest and check out www.newminiscotland.co.uk for some local banter too!

I've found Meguiars' Scratch X to work famously. Apply - rub in - rub off - and rewax area. Looks great and not difficult or laborious.
