Offline | I'm planing on storing my MINI over the winter, don't want it suffering from stonechips and salt. The guy who owns the storingfacility want me to disconect the battery, and my questions to you are; What will I need to do with my MINI when I start using it in the spring? Will the radio (a Boost) need a code? Can't find a answer in the ownersmanual. The side windows, must they be recalibrated? The Xenonlights, need resetting? The ECU will probably lost it's memory, so how is my MINI gonna run when I start it up in the spring? But the $ 10000 question is; How will I survive 6 cold and dark winter month without my MINI??? ![]() |

Offline | Lots of good info here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...winter+storage Radio should retain all memory settings, mine did after being in storage Nov thru Apr. (I did go for a couple of drives on nice, sunny, dry days) My MCS ran like a champ all this year. I made sure to allow the ECU to 'warm-up' by just powering the electrics of the car for a couple of minutes, before starting for the first time in the spring. Xenons don't need squat done to them. I did go through the reset procedure for the windows; door open, roll window down, then all the way up. As far as surviving the time between storage and spring, think of it as an extended ordering period for your car, then you get to drive away next spring in a 'brand-new' MINI. You'll want to spend a lot of time next year reuniting yourself with your MINI, and if you store it in your own garage, it gets really difficult controlling the urge to drive off every time the roads are dry, and the sun is out! ![]() |
