DIY Changing rear brake pads

Hi, I think there is very little information available about changing the brake pads on the Mini.
I intend to do the rear pads this weekend and I will take pictures and see if I can write a quick how-to guide for everyone.

However, I still have a couple of question before starting the job:

-Should I remove the brake fluid reservoir top before starting?
-Should I need to remove the caliper to set the new pads?
-I know I need a wind back tool for the rear piston, but who knows exactly which adapter fits the best? Any pictures?
-Which other tools are needed? Size of socket?
-Which torque setting for the wheels bolt and caliper bolts?
-Should I lubricate ends of pads, which contact and slide in caliper bracket?

Thanks for any answers

Thanks, for the link Max.

So, we have some answers, but still a couple of question.
Let me summarise:

-Should I remove the brake fluid reservoir top before starting?
Not really needed (?)

-Should I need to remove the caliper to set the new pads?
Yes.

-I know I need a wind back tool for the rear piston, but who knows exactly which adapter fits the best? Any pictures?
??????

-Which other tools are needed? Size of socket?
Use a socket wrench with a 16mm socket and breaker bar to remove the two bolts that hold the caliper to the hub carrier.

-Which torque setting for the wheels bolt and caliper bolts?
??????

-Should I lubricate ends of pads, which contact and slide in caliper bracket?
Not really needed (?)

Not really needed (?) NO, use some copper grease on the spring clips, once fitted to the calliper - being careful not to apply too much.

I found some interesting information on torque settings and lubrication. Car is different but it gives a good idea until someone (me? ) write a good how to for the Mini .

Here are the links:
M Brake Pads
E36 Changing Brake Pads

Calliper bolts are different but I suppose torque could be the same:
Quote:
Wheel remounting torque is (100NM ~ 73.7 ftlb).
Install the caliper assembly and torque the guide bolts to (30NM~ 22 ftlb~264 inlb)

Regarding the discs on the bottom of one of the page I've put in my links I found that:

Click Me

It still not Mini, but there may be some tips to pickup.

We really need a good source of information about Mini maintenace. Any chance we get a haynes issue at some point

Unhappy

That sucks.

Rear calliper bold is an hex key I don't know which diameter.
BMW didn't have the pad sensors, so I haven't done it yet.
