Unhappy Advice on Touch-Up Paint Problem?

Working on 2-3 small paint chips on the bonnet and a small scratch group on the driver door plus driver door edge which was pre-chipped for my convenience when I got my car. Have the OEM paint from MINI. Seems like the color came out differently on my car, spec. darker. (I have Pure Silver) Have I made a mistake somehow? Or, is there something wrong with the paint? Made sure to smooth out the surface, its not blobbing.
Very upset with the color obviousness of my repairs.
Any advice from the MINI-experts out there??
Thanks in advance

No easy answer on this but here's a few tips.
1) Stir the paint before you apply it, I know it says shake but do both to be sure.
2) Don't forget to build up thin layer on thin layer, patience is rewarded with better results.
3) Metallic touch up paints rarely match, of course one persons close match is another's
disastrous difference.
4) The final coat is the clear lacquer, that may alter the shade especially light colours.
5) Use a colour polish over the top, they have a mild abrasive in them that will blend
your efforts with the paint around them.
6) If you are still unhappy try another sample or get a bodyshop to match for you.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

also have PS and the BMW touch up is darker - really need to shake it very well before using and bear in mind that the rest of the car's paint has aged ... mine are looking better a few weeks on ... keep polish/waxing and theyll become less noticeable; more expert advice is in the FAQ area

I just read somewhere else about the metallic paint matching problem, wish I'd known that previously. I don't think I shook and stirred long enough either.
I just ordered some Langka products, thought I might try to redo the side patch.
Thanks for the tips and input

Another vote for Langka, works well.
