United-Kingdom Water streaking

I have been using lambs wool wash mitt for washing and real chamois for drying supplemented by 100% cotton terry towel. I do washing/drying from top to down.I am still getting annoying water streaking esp on the windscreen and glass.
Any advice?

to clena the streaky water off the glass, i used auto glym fast glass, then auto glym glass polish, then buffed it with cloth using a light water mist.

after it was spotless, i used rain-x compound then the rain-x itself. the water now beads perfectly so don't end up with residue or steaking. it buffs off well with just the chamois.

i have had to re-rain-x the windscreen a few times (maybe 5?) since february and am now thinking the side and rear windows will get the same treatment. rain-x is fantastic. i swear by it. it's used on my hillclimb car, all the other cars, the truck and my JCB Fastrac! it's totally brilliant! when everyone is using constant speed wipers, i either have them on intermittent or not even on- just a quick wipe every now and then.

(water doesn't streak on my paint as i use zymol!!)

I too use Rain-x and find it a brilliant product. One winter, on my Miata we had a freezing rain storn. While most of the neighborhood was out with ice scrapers trying to clear their windshields, I just gave my windshield a little tap and slid the sheet of ice completely off my windshield!

United-Kingdom Ionic system

I was reading the Motoring section of The Times today. They have mentioned the ionic system which is an in-line filter which fits nicely to the hose pipe for a streak-free cleaning. The web link is www.ionicsystems.com/cars
This device apparently filters out the minerals for a streak-free finish. Has anyone tried this?

I use a lot of different things on my MINI but to clean it I use that new Mr. Clean Auto Wash. I don't know if you have it over there, but if you do you should give it a try. It filters the water and there is no need really to dry and its streak free. I still dry it myself sometimes.

P.S. Wash your car in section. Roof, Hood, Side, etc. And dry after cleaning each section so the water doesn't really sit while your finishing the rest of the car.
