mini paint stick help.

Morning all...just recieved my paint stick in the post, due to a scratch on the passenger door from a while back.

Just wondering, has any1 got some specific techniques they use with applying this stuff...mainly looking for help so i dont end up messing it up. i know itle need a smaller brush than the one they provide on the cap.

The general guidelines are to use a tiny amount of paint at a time, and never use the supplied brush

Check out the FAQ & DIY section at the top of this site, there is some good advice on touching up paintwork

Unless it is a large scratch, I usually dilute the paint on the inside of a lid from an old jam jar using a drop of cellulose thinners (bought from any decent car spares shop) as the supplied paint is too thick. Using a very fine artists brush I CAREFULLY apply the paint mix to the scratch, building it up in 2-3 layers, taking care not to apply paint to the area other than the scratch or chip.

Yep, I'll second all the advice of using several layers to build up. I also give the paint 2-3
weeks to harden they use a coloured polish as these have a mild cutting agent just to
help blend. I've never seen paint sticks make an exact match so don't expect the results
to be invisible.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs
