Offline | hello all, 2 quick questions about Mother's Back 2 Black. 1. Does anyone know what the best application method is? Cloth? Towel? Sponge? The bottle recommends them all... so i'm just curious. 2. Also: Will Back 2 Black survive a car washing? What about a rain storm? How long does it typically last if done correctly? I don't want to spend time doing it, only to wash my car and have the results be gone just like that. I'd love to know... THANK YOU!! |

Offline | it does look spanking for the first few days - up to a fortnight depending on the weather and where you take it - but you've gotta be careful how you apply it cos it will leave marks on the paintwork if you're not careful, ditto the windows. |

Offline | Howdy, I've recently been on a mission to try and get rid of my wax and polish marks on my black trim that were due to my untrained hand when I first got the car. I've tried a few products but nothing got rid of it completely just covered up for a while and always went streaky from rain. I've been reading the posts and tried the peanut oil approach this weekend just gone. Couldn't bear to put actual peanut butter on there so put the oil on. I took my big bottle of oil to MINI in the park 45 and got loads of comments about how my black trim was clean and clear and how I keep it looking so nice! Thanks to peanut oil (£1.69 for a 2 litre bottle) my horrible white marks are gone completely! I'm not joking they are gone. It also keeps it nice and shiny of a while now and I haven't reapplied and it hasn't been a nice weather week this week either. No streaks its great! |

Offline | This may sound strange but I might suggest applying the wax with your fingers! This way, you have complete control of the application and can apply it very lightly. Take care not to apply wax in circular motions. I know folks with pricey antique cars who use this method, it works well. Good luck! |

Offline | I got rid of that dreaded white residue by using a toothbrush and 70% alcohol and then rubbing with olive oil..(I didn't have peanut oil ) but it worked great...white residue absolutle 100% gone and has not returned and has been about 3 weeks since I did this...two washes several rainstorms and the trim is still jet black and looks great I agree..Sparticus was a cool dude....he gets my vote! |
