Offline | hey guys... well i just completed by Back 2 Black application and it was a rip roaring success. i'm highly impressed with the product but a bit concerned about something else. there is some excess Back 2 Black on the paint of the car around the black trim. is there any immediate danger to having the Back 2 Black on there? I don't want to get paranoid about this so please feel free to be honest with me one way or another. I don't want to go at the excess product with a sponge until i've given the Back 2 Black a day or two to settle in on the rim of the car because otherwise the soap and water will dribble onto the freshly coated rims - i also don't want to leave the product if it is a danger, however! any advice would be greatly appreciated - THANK YOU!! |

Offline | Not sure if exactly the same product but UK back to Blacks state clearly to wipe off excess from ppaintwork immediately. Never used it on my Mini but did on old cars bumbers and always simply wiped off with a cloth carefully. It never left any residue at all. Hope all is OK. |

Offline | Let us know if you still think it was a success in a few weeks. The wax residue kept coming back on my cars. I thought it worked really well as a trim polish, not so well as a residue remover. 04 BRG/W MCS |

Offline | Back 2 BLACK, no I want to REMOVE IT. What works? Is this possible?? I used the 'shoe polish' type of cover ups and it comes back after a while. The question is, Does Peanut oil actually remove the wax or just goop it up enough for it not to show? Is there anything else that works beside peanut oil? And is this the same peanut oil I get at the grocery store to cook with?? Thanks ALL 2003 MCS DS/W, Lapis Blue, Roof, Winter, DCS, 17's, many grins. |

Offline | It seems to remove. The gel is a thick gloopy liquid, rather than a thin spray. It's applied with a sponge applicator and rubbed into the black trim. You should see the amount of filth on the sponge when i've finished. It also lasts for ages and makes the black trim water repellant ![]() |

Offline | I use peanut oil and it was £1.69 for about 2litres of the stuff from tescos in the cooking oil section. It works wonders! I love it, I had loads of residue from my first attempts to wax when I first got the car and had an untrained hand. It has removed all of these marks. Even after shampooing the car and the trim you can get a load of dirt off with the oil it drys into the plastic and definately is not harmful to the paintwork! |

Offline | It has been several months since I used peanut oil on my wax residue. None of it has come back, from which I deduce the wax is removed, and not simply covered up. Peanut oil has no special coverup properties. 04 BRG/W MCS |

| MNEEME | I had my car detailed down the street from a nice guy that knows what hes doing. He used back to black and it turned out great. Didn't notice anything wrong. Really works trying to find somewhere I can get it. Where did you get yours and where do you leave? Thanks Matt |
