Kinda getting ahead of things here,but anyone(UK?) noticed

what kind of oil filter is used(someone mentioned a

cartridge type

)Also,I presume access is from

underneath.

As with BMW's, it is a cartridge type. Best access is from above (looking toward the firewall, it's just left of the exhaust manifold, behind the MINI logo on the valve cover).

I think it takes are 35 mm socket to remove the cover. However, since my dealer still hasn't provided me a warranty/service manual, I can't determine the filter type.
