New pads and new Disks !!!

Just had my mini returned from the dealer today after an inspection 2 service. 58k on the clock. The dealer is telling me I will need new brake pads in about 3k miles. Fair enough I thought, then they tell me I will also need new disks !! Anyone else had this experience ? New disks seems a bit severe to me, I had a golf previously and that had 90k on it from new, never had to replace the brake disks.

THanks for the advice, jeepers 30k and you needed new disks. What are EBC's ? , where do I get them, how much do they cost, who fits them. Gave up tinkering with cars a long time ago after a selling a 1973 MG I had had for 10 years

If you need new rotors/pads, I would for sure go with aftermarket parts. Get the slotted rotors, along with the Green stuff brake pads. This will cut down on the dust from the stock brake pads!

For your reference:

Not sure where to locate them in your neck of the woods though!

Cheers!

Just for some balance, I fitted EBC's and they wrecked my disks. Now I have to replace my disks at 20k miles I wouldn't recommend them
