First proper service.

Can someone tell me after the first run in period when is the first real service? The reason I ask is that I got an unofficial oil change at 4k miles and they reset my service indicator(even though i specifically told them not to) so now it's not going to get a service till about 11-12 k but as I said it was only an oil change no a service so in effect I'm now missing a service. So what I need to do is guess a service mileage and book it in.

It depends. My first S the indictor said a service was due at 11,500 miles (never kept the car long enough for it to have one). My current car has its service around 9,500 mile mark.

With Coopers it may be different again.
