newbie question: where is the service indicator and service countdown metre??

I have bought a 2nd hand mini cooper S and will pick it up in 2 weeks time the car is showing 27k miles on the clock. can anyone tell me where about is the service indicator and count down metre? so I can check it has been serviced it regularly. on the service booklet the car just been to a service with dealer at 26k-ish mile now with only 27k-ish mile on the clock the engin oil already looks quite "dark" doesn"t seem like it has been service for a while. thx please advice...

On my 2005 (and I know it was the same on the 2004) it is on the odometer reading as soon as you turn the key. It switches to the odometer reading a few seconds later.

Looks like it had a service at 26K and will not be due for another until 40K or so. Don't be fooled by the colour of the oil, it will go dark quite quickly and you can't tell the condition of the oil simply by looking at the colour.
