Offline | So I give my dad the car for a week and I get it back to find a few irritating scuff marks on the faux leather of my driver's side seat. My fake leather seats are black and up until this weekend were in PERFECT condition. I am majorly irritated. Although there is no tear, the discoloration is highly annoying. Is there any way I can restore the luster of the fake leather or am I just screwed? Advice?? |

Offline | I haven't used it yet but I've heard great things about 303 Aerospace Protectant. Gets scratches out of plexiglass too. Check out their site: http://www.303products.com/main.php?infopage=protectant |

Offline | Go to www.leatherique.com and go through the options on their site. Most of their repair products work well on both leather and vinyl. They are also helpful on the phone with specific advice. If the surface and color are scraped off you may do well with some of their dyes followed by Pristene Clean and Rejuvenator Oil. You refer to "faux leather" so I assume you're talking about the leatherette interior. They are probably your best bet either way. Jim 2005 MCS |

Offline | Guys... I tried the 303 this morning before work and it didn't look too promising. I'll check again when I get back to the car. I guess its on to the next thing - oh well it was worth a shot! |

Offline | I think I may have confused the 303 Aerospace PROTECTANT with the 303 Aerospace CLEANER. They are two different products. You can find information on the cleaner here: http://www.superiorcarcare.net/303aecl.html I would e-mail them and ask if the product specifically can remove scuff marks from vinyl seats. The leatherique products previously mentioned sound promising as well. I just did a search at autopia.com and a few threads came up about scuff marks. Here's the link: http://autopia.org/forums/search.php...der=descending |

Offline | retired00, the leatherique die could DEF. work but the problem is that I don't know how exact the color is going to be. I have black (I'm assuming interior). Do you think I'm safe to get the black die or do I need to send a sample and get an exact match? Any idea? |

Offline | MarylandMade: I've never needed to use the dye product, just the conditioners, although posters on the MB boards have been pleased with the dye. I expect if you call them they would give good advice, it's a family business. Jim 2005 MCS |

Offline | retired00, thanks very much for your help. I'm not sure conditioners will improve scuff marks though will they? I have a feeling conditioners would just improve the feel of the material. Let me know what you think. In the meantime, I have contacted the company so we will see what they say! |

Offline | MarylandMade: Sorry if I confused you, but, no, the Leatherique conditioners won't help, I just meant that has been where I used some of the company's products and was pleased with them, as well as seeing complimentary comments from users of their dyes. Supposedly the Pristene Clean will keep the leatherette clean, but I have not had the need as yet. Jim 2005 MCS |

Offline | Well, I got a response back from leatherique and it turns out their products ONLY work on leather and not on leatherette at all so that's pretty much out of the question. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?? I'm getting desperate here. I really appreciate any and all help!! Thank you! |
