big Wax & Polish Review In Auto Express

50 products across 18 brands tested including:
autoglym
meguiars nxt
mothers
zymol
mer
raindance
simoniz

the test was to treat a section of car bonnet with each product & leave it over 3 weeks exposed to winter conditions, regularly checking for water beading. ease of application was also considered.

& the top 3:

1. turtlewax gloss guard
2. turtlewax platinum car wax
3. turtlewx clearvue

turtle wax products took 6 out of the top 10 places. megs & autoglym never even made the top 10

now i haven't used turtlewax in years & last time we ran a poll on here neither did anyone else. so maybe its time to give it another go?

awards in magazines are more than often awarded to those companies that place more adverts in the publication

so I think I will still stick with what I know I like

Hmm, I've been doing a lot of research lately on waxes/polishes, and Turtlewax isn't even mentioned in the top "anything" from the articles I read.

I'm going with Klasse AIO and sealant glaze with a coat of P21S carnauba on top. We'll see how well that works...once my car arrives.

I've used Maguire's and Klasse. They are both good products but ZAINO falls on a different category. Zaino products easily beats the competition.

Im vouching for Zaino, I swear by it...definately blows the competition out of the water... then again you get what you pay for and Zaino is bit on the expensive side :P

Turtle Wax Gloss Guard

FWIW - I agree totally with AutoExpress - I have used Turtle Wax Gloss Guard for a couple of years and it is superb. I recently tried the Meguirs products - NXT, shampoo and ScratchX - OK , but not a patch on Gloss Guard - snd its a lot cheaper.
I live in a very hard water area and find Turtle Wax shampoo and Gloss Guard are the ideal combination on a Dark Silver MINI Cooper S and a Mystric Blue BMW X3.
Also, I use Car Plan Tyre Slik silicone spray which lasts a long time and keeps the tyres looking like new without a shiny oily effect - NB this also came out top in another AutoExpress consumer report!
