Oil Service indicator - MINI Cooper Forum

Hey everyone, I'm up to about 16,000 Km travelled and up to now the Oil Service Indicator (OIS) was registering about 1 Km for about every 2 Km travelled. IE, I was driving a bit like a granny

, however lately I have noticed that as the (OIS) has counted own the last 4,000 Km it is counting the Km's about the actual distance travelled. Has anyone else noticed this about their (OIS) as its getting down to the last few thousand Km?
My actual driving hasn't changed & I still mainly do country freeway driving. If I add the actual distance travelled, 16,000 Km & the 4,000 Km on the indicator, gives me a 1st proper service at about 20,000 to 21,000 Km's.Originally, the way the (OIS) was counting down, I was reckoning on about a 24,000Km Oil Service, Thanks.

Possibly the indicator had adapted to your driving style and is able to make a more accurate prediction. I don't know whether it is adaptive at all, but could be an explanation.
