Power Steering Fan Shroud

This is probably in the wrong forum
Done a search but did not come up with anything definate.

Has anyone bought one of these and are they a good insurance against problems with unguarded fan? Minr is a Jan 03 build so it does not have a guard like the later models.
Opinions please

I have one on my 2002

The cost is cheap for having peace of mind that your power steering fan is protected

I have an '02 MCS and I had a factory re-fit done to mine that divided the fan circuit into two fused parts, one for the power steering fan and one for the cooling fans. They install a new wiring harness and fuse box. It is done at no charge. It prevents the possibility of having the a blown fuse for the power steering fan cause the engine to overheat.

If anyone is interested I will try to find the service item number for that. It only applies to, I think, the '02s and early '03s.

Motor on, Dudes and Dudettes!!!

New guard fitted Pump fan did not work after fitting guard thought I had done something wrong Left engine running and warmed it up and the pump fan runs at the same time as the radiator cooling fan So it seems that the pump fan does not run continuosly to cool the pump motor. Also when you take the fan out there is nothing behind it Suspose all it does it create a draft to help the airflow oin the pump area??
