Offline | www.chipsaway.co.uk Hi All Somebody has done the usual trick of opening their door onto my car in a car park, and I have a very minor door dink now. Even though it is very minor and I can only see it in certain lights it really upsets me and I want to get it fixed. Somebody on here recommended chipsaway.co.uk a while back to me for a scratch which I had but I managed to rub it out myself so never used them. Has anybody ever used chipsaway before for a small door dink and could let me know if they are any good, or how much it cost? Alternatively if anybody has any other recommendations that would be great. |

| Mini Madness | Chipsaway is only any good if you've actually got damaged / scuffed paintwork, even then the quality of their work depends very much on the particular person that does the work. If it's just a parking dent / dimple without damage to the paintwork then you don't need anyone to paint it, and there are many paintless dent removal specialists that can come to your home/work and massage the dent out, so long as they can get access to the back of the panel. Try your local yellow pages to find a local operator - I think there are some national firms like dent devils or dent wizard, but an independant specialist can be just as good. I've used a local independant dent removal company a few times here in Berkshire and it is pretty amazing what they can do. It will probably cost about £70 to have one panel done (but there can be more than one dent to remove), then additional panels are usually much cheaper within the same call out. Hope this helps! ![]() 2007 Clubman Cooper D ~ 2004 Cooper S JCW |

Offline | Had same problem 2 weeks ago. Car was 2 weeks old at the time and someone decided that the bonnet would look better with a slight dent! Used a company recommended by our Mini dealer. Met him in a car park and paid £40.00 to have the dent removed. Have to admit that he did a good job - You can only see it now if you know where it was! One word of advice is - Dont look while they do it? Hitting your car with a hammer and nylon punch is best heard and not seen. Still toying with the idea of having the dent professionally sorted at some point. Dent man said tht he could not get the dent any berrer because the paint was not the best! - Good old BMW?????? Just forget where the dent was after having it removed! |
