United-States Zaino Z-2 Pro Question- do I need the accelerator?

Hi,
I have a new '05 that's in need of a wax. I have read many posts and have decided to try the Zaino Z-2 Pro. I see on their site they recommend using the ZFZ flash accelerator.
My question is - Do I need to use the accelerator? Has anyone used Z-2 Pro without? Is there a difference?
thanks for the help.

yes....the ZFX makes the Z2 dry faster...I put on 3 coats in a couple hours....without the ZFX it would have taken hours ( so they say ) for the first coat to dry)

the first and only time I've used Zaino was 6 or 7 weeks ago.....water still beads up like crazy...when I wash the car, water seems to be repelled and rolls right off....still very slick when after a wash I use their Z6 detailer spray

I bought Z-1 and Z-2 Pro. The first application took less than an hour to dry in the sun. I don't think you really need ZFX, but it's probably nicer to have, especially when it's not so hot out. If you live somewhere warm though, I can't really think of a reason why you would need it unless you're just ... how you say ... lazy. Or impatient. Or maybe if you don't have all weekend to spend on your car like I usually do. Hm. Maybe I should buy some.

According to the Zaino web site you have to use ZFX, at least initially. This is directly from the Zaino site:

For your initial application, enable Z-2 PRO™ by mixing with ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator as directed by the instructions included with ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator. It is critical that you use ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator with Z-2 PRO™ for the initial application, or if multiple layers are to be applied within a 24 hour time period............Whenever you layer Z-2 PRO™, you must activate it with ZFX.

In terms of durability, Zaino is better than other products I've used over the years. On my first MCS I applied a number of layers over the summer and fall. Drove the car all winter out here in western NY, land of the road salt. The car frequently looked like a salt lick. During that winter I took it to a self serve spray wand car wash only one time to rinse off the salt. Water was still beading up and the finish was still shining when I was finally able to give it a decent wash in the spring. That was enough to convince me.

That's just my experience, and others swear by other products, but so far I'm happy with Z.
