Offline | WheelWax, available in the UK? Hi guys, i've been sorting out my car care products since i got my new mini last month. I've decided to give WheelWax a go (the stuff in the pot) from autostylin so i ordered it off there website, but it appears their not doing it any more as they have refunded me and taken it off. Anyone have any idea if it is available anywhere else in the UK? I found it via the .net e-mail adddy which appears to be dead now. |

Offline | I've got a part used tub because I didn't find it helped at all. I have found Greenstuff pads to be far better in keeping my alloy wheels bright and shiny . If it is no longer availabledon't fret about it. ![]() Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs |

Offline | I've recently been considering purchasing something like this to look after the wheels. Is it worth it, or should I just stick with regular cleaning using the sprays? James |

| GP 0380 | Sprays????? Most cleaners are acidic and will wreck the finish on your rims! Even if they say they are mild! Dont use anything other than car shampoo, a good clay bar to remove bonded contaminants, a mild polish if necessary and a good wax. I used zymol carbon wax on my rims and they are very shiny. Treat your wheels like you would the rest of your paintwork! ![]() |

Offline | You can use several of the available commercial wheel cleaners on your MINI wheels. What strength of product you use will depend on how bad the wheels are at the moment, and how much elbow grease you want to use. I have used Wheel Brightener (by Meguiars) on my white painted Team Dynamics, although it is not for use on polished or anodysed rims, but there are several others available. Just use a reasonable amount of caution, and follow the instructions They are serious stuff and not to be left on the wheel for long!Ideally though, use something to get them clean initially, then clay them, and then seal and wax them like you would the rest of the car (Poorboy's EX-P sealant and Wheel Sealant wax are my current favourites and excellent value for money AND great products in their own right). Once you've got them cleaned, sealed and waxed, just clean them as you would the rest of the car, ie. a decent car shampoo, and a top up of wax/sealant. If you do this reasonably often, you won't have to use the wheel cleaner again. (By the way, clay isn't something to use every wash - once to twice a year at most.) |
