I hope you dont mind me mailing you. I saw a post you've put here and thought you may be able to help solve my problem, if it is a problem at all.



Iv recently bought a lovely 2008 mini copper, with 12000 miles on the clock. After 5 days i noticed a rattling noise when the car is stationary and in neutral, press the clutch and it dissapears, just as you described in your post. I took it back to the garage where i got it from and they said it was normal. I took it to a mini garage and they said it wasnt normal and that i needed a new gearbox, nearly £3000. With this information i went back to the garage i bought the car from and they replaced the bearings in the gear box and clutch plate. Iv just picked my car up today and the noise is still there. I really dont know what to do next? Is it normal?
