MINI Race Day

Calling all Mexican MINI owners. The Mexican MINI Club will host its 2004 Race Day at the Pegaso racetrack in Toluca, Mexico this Saturday, June 19, 2004.

The event will include:
MINI Sport Driving Training - A theorical and practical course taught by professional race drivers
MINI Track Test - Open track to all MINIs. Each MINI will have a chrono chip installed to track its time aroung the course (trophies will be given out to the first three places in each class)
MINI Tuner Showcase - Sponsors will have stands with MINI tuning accesories for sale, demo laps and installation.

To al MINI motorers in Mexico City:

The Mexican MINI Club and München Motors have paired to open the first MINI SPEED TRACK CHALLENGE, an autocross-slalom course of pure speed and skill, exclusively for MINI automobiles.

The first event will be held this Saturday, October the 16th, 2004 at a parking lot near the Alameda Poniente in the center of Santa Fe city, north-west Mexico city.

Apart from the challenge, it will be a fun-fest, full of MINIs, friends, music and chronographs...

Details on categories and prizes are available at www.mundomini.com

No previous skill is required, no helmet is necessary for this first event, no special tires are required at this stage.

Ahora veo que ha habido eventos de MINI en México. ¡Qué padre! ¡Lástima que me perdí del evento de Guadalajara, pero si se vuelve a organizar otro evento por aquí en occidente, espero poder participar!

¡Recibí una llamada de mi concesionario MINI esta mañana, invitándome a un Rally que está siendo organizado por las tres únicas agencias de BMW en Guadalajara!

El Rally se llevará a cabo el próximo sábado, 2 de Julio. Aún está por confirmarse la hora, aunque aparentemente comenzará temprano (8:00am). Partirá del centro comercial "Galerías" y terminará a medio día en el pueblo de Ajijic, en el lago de Chapala.

¡Aparentemente vienen MINIs de todo el país, incluso me comentaron que ya hay por lo menos 100 confirmados!

Trataré de mantener al día cualquier novedad, aunque también pueden contactar a su agencia MINI para más información.

¡Nos vemos en Guadalajara, la cuna del mariachi y el tequila!

I received a phone call from the local MINI dealership. They have invited me to a Rally being organized by Guadalajara's three BMW dealerships!

The Rally will take place on Saturday, July the 2nd. They still are to confirm the time, although apparently it will begin quite early (8:00am). It will begin in the "Galerías" shopping center and will end in the beautiful town of Ajijic, by lake Chapala!

Apparently there are MINIs coming from all over the country, and I was told that at least 100 have already been confirmed!

I'll update any news, although you may contact your local dealership for more information.

See you in Guadalajara, the birthplace of mariachi and tequila!

El Rally comenzará a las 9:30am. Incluirá desayuno de recepción y comida de premiación, además de regalos, y al parecer muchas sorpresas. ¡Todo gratis!
¡Parece ser que son 80 MINIs inscritos hasta ahora!

An update:

For those coming to the MINI Rally in Guadalajara. The meeting point will be at "Berlina MINI-BMW", Av. Patria #120, Fraccionamiento Real Vallarta, at 9:00am!
The Rally will begin at 9:30am. It includes a breakfast, lunch, gifts and many cool surprises. All free!!!
Apparently there are 80 MINIs confirmed!

Here are the photographs that I took two days ago, during the first MINI Rally held in Guadalajara, MEXICO.

It ended up being a local event, organized by the one MINI and the 3 local BMW dealerships in town. There were 80 MINIs expected to attend, unfortunately only 42 showed up! However, it was a fantastic experience, and we had a great time!

It started at 10:15am, and the last MINIs to finish did so at around 6:00pm! There were lots of presents for all of us, and several good prizes for the winners in different categories!

Apparently, there will be more Rallies to come! I hope so, because I had a blast!

I don't know how to post more than 5 pictures in one post. So I'll post five pictures in each one and I'll try to add some comments. I hope that you enjoy seeing these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!

...I forgot to mention that I didn't win.

But it was great fun being there!

9:00am, the MINIs begin to gather. We (my brother and I) were the second to arrive! So, you there's my MINI (aka "Sunshine") parked right behind a BEP/W MINI.

That's awesome. That black one with the white aero is different. I tend to like different. It looks better from the front than the back.

Yes lots of LY. All looking great. Only one has no stripes though - who's is that one? (actually I know).

I also like the one that is all white.
