All MINI drivers and MINI fans alike in Mexico, be advised, a Mini Meet & Greet will be held sometime in February 2003 in the city of San Luis Potosí, SLP.

Both (BMW) MINIs and classic Minis are invited.

See what you missed in the last meeting held in Guadalajara. I am sure that this event can be much bigger!!!the last meeting held in Guadalajara

Basil,

I have about 20 people signed in for the January meet and about 30 for the February meet. Most of them have signed in through the Mexican MINI site (www.mundomini.com) and not through Mini2.

I am looking forward to a great meet this weekend. I will post pictures next week!!

Hi all!!!

Pictures of the January 2003 Mini Meet&Greet (2)are available here.

The meeting was fun! We drove to the Otomi Ceremonial Center, where the 1989 James Bond "License to Kill" movie was filmed!! (remember that scene where a large olympic-style stone stadium opens to allow a helicopter out??)

To get there, we went through a no-cop-around three lane speedway, where we tested our MINIs acceleration and speeding abilities

. Afterwards, we took onto an amazing mountain road

, with just enough bends to convice ourselves that the MINI is a superior piece of metal!!!

We then visited the ceremonial center, ate quesadillas and took pictures.

We are getting ready for the February 2003 meeting in San Luis Potosí, which will include a question rally and a slalom in a large parking lot.

San Luis Potosi- had a day there with the president of the Instituto Allende, if I recall correctly. Incredible 301 flavors icecream to be had in Doloros Hidalgo. Azulejos country, if I'm not completely off mark. 1993. Beautiful country.

I like the picture of the little tiny cars.

Great memories about Mexico GMINI!

San Miguel de Allende is a place I have on my sight for the next Meet. The town is gorgeous today, and although they don't have the best ice cream there, the sights are worth it...

The rally was fun!!! 35 cars signed up, 32 cars departed. Amongst the crowd, we had 4 classic Minis and 28 new MINIs. The first place was won by car No. 18 of Xavier Gonzalez in his classic Austin Mini MKIII. I can't wait for our next rally!!!

To all Mexican MINI owners:

The MINI Holiday Rally this Saturday, December 13th, will be the last of the Mexican MINI Club's events for 2003. The navigational rally will depart from a "secret" location in Mexico City and will take on some of the surrounding hills (including the Ajusco)

Fun is guaranteed. As always, there are two main categories: Classic Mini (2001 and before) and New Mini (2002 and after). For each category, there is an Expert and a Novice class.
