Well the route does not include a water crossing on the ferry. It does go through Rock Creek Park (up to where it is closed on the weekends) though.

You can see the planned route here. Once at the site click on Pre-Movie Drive and look for the link to the planned route.

It should be a lot of fun. We are aiming to reserve a section at Ruby Tuesdays. We are also hoping to get block seating at the Hoffman Center for the Movie.

Show times should be available for May 31st in about two weeks. We will refine times at that point.

If you haven't seen the trailer yet for The Italian job check it out. It's now more of a action flick instead of a comedy (unfortunently). Should still be worth the admission though!

Just to keep everyone updated. Hoffman says that they will be carrying the movie. Ruby Tuesday has penciled us in for a section of reserved seating. The rally route is made and is being refined to provide maximum enjoyment.

Get this, we are even working on getting a Scooter/Vespa escort through the City! We are also working on getting some prizes for people (Farthest traveled, cleanest mini, dirtiest mini, etc). We will keep you posted and you can always find period updates at our Italian Job Movie Rally Website.

I am getting excited also. In the next week of two we will be finalizing the route for the AM drive. Show times should soon be available from the Hoffman Center. Once we have the actual show times we can pin down exact times for the Drive, lunch and movie. I think we will have a decent size crowd. We are working on trying to get MINI only parking closer to the theater so we can "display" our labors of love. Will keep you updated as things progress. Just hope for good weather!

Glad to hear that so many of you can make it. Moonpie, I will bring some more cow-tipping tips for your enjoyment.

I'm going to be bringing a few DIVX copies of the original The Italian Job as random giveaways. They are the kind that play in your computer only but can be made to go fullscreen with great quality. Got my copy courtesy of another MCO/MINI2 member. Won't mention their name though since technically we are bootlegging ;-)

Not sure what bit rate it was recorded in but when I make it full screen (it goes wide screen style when I do this) it is very clear. No bleeps, burps, or scratches noticeable to me. Sound is excellent too
