Offline | Amish Country Drive and Lunch - April 26th (Western PA) The PittStop MINI Club is happy to announce our April event. We are planning lunch and a drive through Amish country in Lawrence and Mercer counties; including a drive through a covered bridge and at least one stop at an Amish farm that sells flats of flowers and hanging baskets. Other stops include Amish farms that specialize in quilts, baskets and crafts. We will all meet in the parking lot of Hoss’s Steak & Sea House Family Restaurant in Grove City. The agenda is as follows: 12:30 Meet at Hoss’s. To get there take Route 79 to the Grove City exit and go about ¼ mile west of the Grove City Outlet Mall on Rt. 208. The address is 1948 Leesburg-Grove City Road. Arrive at 12:30, check out each other’s cars, renew acquaintances and make new friends. 1 PM-2:30 Brief meeting, door prize drawing and lunch. Lunch includes a Sandwich, Soup & Salad Bar and soft drinks. 2:30-? A pleasant and scenic drive via a covered bridge through Volant, New Wilmington and Amish Farm area. After the first portion of the drive, you are welcome to stay with the club or proceed at your own pace to various Amish farms, each featuring their own specialty. A map showing them will be provided if you want to skip one or linger and catch up later. As of this posting we have 59 member cars! We are expecting a very good turnout for this event, so it is important that you RSVP NO LATER THAN APRIL 18th. The cost of this event is only $10 per-person for club members or $11 per-person for non-members (this covers your lunch buffet). Member’s guests riding in the same MINI pay member price. After April 18th, the cost will be $11 each for members, $12 each for non-members. We ask for your cooperation in replying as EARLY as possible so that we can be sure the restaurant will be prepared to comfortably accommodate us all. To sign up, please send an email to ksero@pittstopmini.org! We are really looking forward to this fun event, and it just won’t be the same without you! Our goal is to have an impressive parade of 50 or more MINI’s. ![]() Last edited by aMini2Go : Apr 11th, 2003 at 03:58 AM. |

Offline | Oh-you mean THAT Amish country To me, Amish country means Eastern PA--Lancaster county. But no, you mean about as far away in PA as you can get from there--the extreme western end!! It's not obvious to non-locals where you are talking about! Too far for me. But have a good time. Offline | Shep, Apologies for the confusion... ...The way these regions are set up I still don't know where is the most appropriate place to announce Western PA events. I, personally, would never think of any portion of PA being in the Midwest.... but who am I to say? Maybe I should put a copy of this over in that region also? Yes, the Lancaster area is unquestionably THE famous Amish Country - but, in these parts, Volant, New Wilmington, et al. are also well known for the Amish. ![]() |

Offline | Done. Hopefully that will help. ![]() BTW, for the Easterners (and other Mid-Atlantic folks) watch soon for an announcement with more details about a MINI event in Bedford, PA (South-Central PA). It is called the "Downtown Beach Party" and will be on June 21. MINIs will be the main attraction along Main Street! ![]() |
