hey guys,
Whispering wall is located in west Fairmount Park just east of Memorial Hall (underneath a hugh civil war monument) about one half mile east of Belmont ave & I think the name of the street that it's on is south Concourse Drive.I wish I could make the meet to show you (I voted for Sunday 8/24)but I'll be in the Galapagos then. P.S. go to Geno's Steaks instead of Pats.

If you really want to go all out with this run(It sounds like it will be a blast)then post a notice about it on minicooperonline.com and the Mini board on roadfly.com

I can also pass it along to the president of the local Mini club.Yes there is one.It's called the Bucks Mini Club.It's open to all Mini's and their owners.

The place on Oregon avenue that you're thinking of is "Tony Luke's". It's on Oregon and Front St.. It far surpasses Geno's and Pat's for quality of cheese steak. Pat's and Geno's are great if it's 2AM and your taste buds are dulled from a night out on the town.

Anybody in this thread go to Helix Minisport's Dyno Day?

BTW forgot to mention that parking at Pat's and Geno's would probably be a little tough if there are a large number of Mini's at the event. Tony Luke's has a decent sized lot.

Hey Hamster,

YUP, it's definately still a go!!!

CooperSQT and I (along with a few others) have been working out the routing, coming up with great photo-op locations, and are doing a dry run next weekend.

The details will be posted in about 2 weeks, so put it on your calendar!!

This sounds like a great idea! Actually me and my girlfriend were planning a trip to Philly in August so this comes as a pleasant coincidence.

How about sometime during the rally we came make a stop by Helix MINIsports?

Unfortunately, Helix is not in the vicinity of the rally. But the rally is on a Sunday, perhaps you and your girl can check it out on Monday.

Helix is fairly close to the Girard avenue exit off I95. Just head up York from I95 and cross Frankford Ave, it's the first right after you cross Frankford.

LuckyRVA just pointed this thread out to me. Unfortunately, We will be out of town from 8/4 to 8/12. This is the first time off since November of '01, so I just have to take it.

I would have loved to host a part of this event. If you want to do it again soon (or change the dates of this one), I will be happy to have folks in for munchies, shop squawk, and perhaps a few dyno runs. Yep, it's 8.10.03 @9AM. We're assembling around the "Italian Fountain" circle, behind the Art Museum, left of Lloyd Hall. Between 9:30-10AM, we're heading out for the drive, stopping along the way for a photo op or two, then meet for lunch. The details are being finalized this week. I'll post the final details/maps next Monday!

Ted, JMHO, I'd actually prefer that (having a fall date for a Helix trip), but I thought I pose the question about switching the date to the group. Since there is another meet in Bucks County the week before, August is looking a bit tight.
