Offline | Sun. Aug 3rd - Bucks County PA - Covered Bridges Tour, Twisties, and more Get your MINIs out to Bucks County and lets take on some of those awesome twisties. We will be checking out 6 or so of the covered bridges in the area and end the afternoon with some chow. This will be a loosely organized event, but we will have maps of the route to hand out. Remember to bring your hand-held radios for the ride. Although we will be going to see the covered bridges, there will also be plenty of spirited driving. I promise!! THIS IS THE OFFICIAL AGENDA (edited on 7/22/03) -Meet at the White Rose Cafe in Yardley (see directions below). -I will be at the cafe by 9:30AM. Join me for breakfast. -10:30 pre-ride gathering, maps and logistics -Start motoring 11am. -We'll ride for a couple of hours, then we'll be stopping at the Homestead General Store in Upper Black Eddy for ice-cream. -More motoring, more bridges. -Dinner around 4 or 5pm at Faherty's On the Delaware in Washington's Crossing, NJ WHAT TO BRING: water, beverages, snacks, 2-way radios, and a camera. DIRECTIONS TO THE WHITE ROSE CAFE IN YARDLEY PA. 1050 Stony Hill Rd Yardley Pa. 19067 (215) 968-0100 From I-95 North or South, take exit 49 toward Newtown/Yardley. Keep left at the fork in the ramp. Merge onto Newtown Yardley Rd/Route 332 West. Turn left onto Stony Hill Rd. HERE is a map to the White Rose Cafe. *********Updates and recommendations (edited 7/29/03) Last Friday, I tried out Faherty's restaurant and was very disappointed. I asked the guys if they would help us find a better place to eat. Scott found a place that will be perfect. It's called the Triumph Brewing Company in New Hope. It's a new place that just opened in Union Square, they'll give us free up-front parking and are happy to have us come there. YAY!!! I also have some pre-meet recommendations. Arrive at the White Rose Cafe with a full tank of gas. Eat a good breakfast (at home or the White Rose). At our mid-route stop at the Homestead we'll only have time to get ice cream, not a full lunch. Bring extra snacks if you need to hold you over till dinner. We'll have the radios on Channel 7, sub 0. If you arrive past 11am, you can still pick up a copy of the route at the White Rose Cafe and try and find us. Before we start motoring, I'll need to get a confirmation (head count) of those that will be joining us for dinner so we can call the Triumph. Dinner will probably be around 5pm. | MINI2 Regular | Kim, Glad to see you've posted the idea!! You know me, I'm up for it!!! Will help with the details. Actually just spent today wandering around Bucks & Montgomery, scouting out places!!! As for lunch, while maybe not the best place for food, they certainly have the parking, and that's at Peddler's Village. Otherwise, we could find a place further North into the County, along the river. You know where to find me, so let's get rockin!!! Cheers. Scott Mid-Life Crisis never felt so good! |

Offline | Hello- has a meeting place been selected? I lived in Bucks for a long time and the roads are great. In fact, this past weekend we drove River Road from Washington Crossing to the point where River Road meets 611. It's a wonderful drive. It was my Mini's first really good twisty ride. Along the way a Harley rider took a shine to my baby...River Road passes through New Hope. It would be neat to have a Mini parade...Ted |

| MINI2 Regular | MINI Parade in New Hope! Hey Ted, HARMINI, Pocket_Rocket and I spent this past Sunday exploring more twisties than I've driven in a long time!! I am a native Bucks County resident, and I found roads I've never seen before!!! If you think River Road is great, wait until you see some of the roads that lead around the back side of Bucks County. We mapped out a route that goes by 8 Covered Bridges, 1 lovely Country Store (MINI parents), 150+ miles of turns, Ringing Rocks (maybe), a rest stop or two, and some really great photo ops. If you want to see one to whet your apptetite, go over to minicooperonline, and find this same thread, HARMINI posted a PIC of her MC and my MCS! She's working through the final logistics, trying to find a meeting place that has facilities open that early in the AM. Hang tight, she'll be posting them shortly! Cheers. | MINI2 Regular | Sounds like this could be fun. I live in Center City Philadelphia and was just up in Bucks this past weekend - drove through New Hope to Point Pleasant for an afternoon of tubing. I actually have to work in the evening that day (around 4pm) but could be up for the early part of the drive. Thanks |

| MINI2 Regular | Come Motor in your Non-MINI Hey Yeti, Feel free to join us, without your MINI!! There are several soon-to-be proud parents of a new MINI that have yet to be delivered. We have a VW Bug and a BMW Z3 joining the run. Don't let the fact that you aren't in posession of your MINI to keep you from enjoying the comraderie and enjoyable scenery with the rest of us! It just gives you a head start in making new friends with all of us!! HARMINI has been tied up this week, and we're waiting for Pocket_Rocket to get back from his other Rally this weekend to get all the final details posted. Cheers. Offline | What kind of radios/walkie talkies do you guys use? I was thinking of running out to Radio Shack to buy a pair. Is there a particular kind I should look for? JCW S, IB/W, Lapis Blue, sunroof etc. |
