Ah yes - Seafood Yummies!!

The DC METRO MINIS upcoming event is a short but cool drive to Tim's River Shore in Dumfries, VA along the banks of the river..

There will be 2 meeting places for a drive to the restaurant. The first will be Sterling MINI leaving at 9:30. We will meet up with the rest of the crowd (via some twisties) at Krispy Kreme in Alexandria located at 6332 Richmond Highway - it's right off 495. We will leave Krispy Kreme at approximately 10:30 for a continued drive to Tim's.

So you can meet us at either place -

We should arrive at Tim's around 12:30...

For those who aren't crazy about seafood, Tim's also has great burgers!

The views of the river are great, and you never know what you might see happening on one of the many boats anchored in the cove!

Come on out and enjoy the day with lots of your MINI friends. Let us know if you are coming as we need to let the restaurant know how many people to expect. Thanks!!

Hey Mike & Donna,

Be glad to Motor down for a relaxing day in the country. Currently, I'm 1 person (for lunch purposes) but will try and snag a Navigator!

Is there anything planned for after lunch? Are we finished, or do you have more roads in mind?

I'll be driving from Philadelphia, and need to get back in time to rest up for the Downtown Philadelphia Rally on the 10th!!! Woo Hoo, a whole week-end of Motoring!

What is the exit off the Beltway for Sterling Motors?

That depends on how adventerous you're feeling. The Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West Exit, or the Dulles Toll Road West are the two most direct routes. But Georgetown Pike West will certainly be a lot more fun.

At that time of the morning, I'll be pressing to make it there by 9:30AM!!! I'll take the most direct route, just got the directions from MapQuest, using the Dulles Toll Road.

If you wish, we can meet at the I95 rest stop just south of MD-32. I live about 25 minutes from there and would be glad to drive over with you. I know the road the Grinder is talking about

and know where we will meet Mike & Donna. Just let me know.

Hey Paddy,

I'd welcome the company, but not sure which Rest Stop you're referring to. I don't frequent them that often!!! :-)

What time would I need to be at the rest stop to make it from there to Sterling?? Just pick a time, and let me know!!

The rest stop on I-95 is just beyond MD-32. It is roughly about 1.1 miles after you pass under 32 on 95. The rest stop is well marked on the right. I will meet you there at 8:15 am. This will give us enough time to get gas, once we are in VA, needed and make it to MINI Sterling with about 10 minutes to spare. Just time of the other the other type of break.....

This meeting place is open to any others that are coming down from the great northern expanses or anyone else from outside of the area.

We'll have to pass on this one. Unless the forecast calls for rain - we're planning on packing the MINI and heading for Shenandoah Park and a camping out. Should be fun to see how to pack the MINI for camping.

It's a date!!! I'll be at the MD-32 Rest Stop by 8:15AM.

Also, someone (sorry, can't remember their name) was planning on riding back home to Philadelphia with me, as they are planning on coming to the Downtown Philadelphia Rally on Sunday, 10 August! I have to look through the posts to see who that was!!!

I'll leave PHL around 6AM to hopefully get to that stop by 8:15AM. That early on a SAT morning, shouldn't be a problem.

I'll PM you my cellphone number, just in case!
