Hello Everyone,

Well, now that two major events have been finished in the area (Bucks County and Downtown Philadelphia) and another is now in the works (Cape May & Delaware), CooperSQT and I thought it would be a good idea to start pulling together an impromptu group of area Enthusiasts, and use the Yahoo Groups to send out reminders, take polls and structure monthly MINI Meets.

We're thinking that it doesn't need to be a formally structured MINI Club, with dues, Boards, etc., but just a place for people specifically in the Philly area (NJ, PA, DE and MD if you're inclined) to gather and meet.

One of the key benefits of using the Yahoo Groups is that, once you sign-in, it automatically sends you reminders of up-coming events.

In addition, people can take the lead and pick a Diner near their home, and coordinate the run, or come up with other creative ideas!

So, our thought is to start coordinating monthly impromptu Diner Drives. Simple gatherings at a local Diner (Diners change each month) to get together for dinner and an early evening drive.

In addition, we'll also check all the threads from MCO, MINI2, MINIUSA and Roadfly and make sure those are put into the calendars as well, so everyone can get the reminders.

So, starting in October, we'd like to start the following:

MINI Monday Diner Drives - meeting once a month on the first Monday of each month.

Great idea. Other regional groups also use Yahoo and it works very well for coordinating events and you can choose how often you want group emails if at all. I am signed up!

I'd love to keep on top of gatherings in the Philly area, but as I'm not there all the time I'd prefer using this forum .... I've signed up for yahoo groups with the local DC Mini group and it is clobbering my email!

As far as I know you can't change your yahoo name tho you certainly can make a completely new one

Thanks G-03, I figured out my old yahoo ID, that I couldn't remember and caused me to create the one that I didn't like. All's well now.

Hello all. Count me in, I would love to meet fellow MINI's in my area. We should have our 04 MCS soon. We're still crossing our fingers for an end of September delivery date. We'll see!
I've joined the Yahoo group so we'll catch up with everyone once we get our hands on our new MINI.

Hope you continue to post the events on MINI2 also, I've never been adverse to a long drive if the event sound like something I'd enjoy ... I sure did enjoy the bucks county meet

GMINI03 & Tontobird!

The intent is not to keep the events off MCO and MINI2, but to supplement them. We'll still promote that everyone puts their events in all locations!!

We love having the long distancers come south or noth or east!!!

Tontobird, I thought you were already approved by Julie. Send her an email and give her hell!!!

To Tonto and everyone: As soon as a request comes in for membership, an email is sent back to the applicant which they must respond to in order to be approved. Tonto, I think maybe your email had been inadvertently overlooked (?) because it was sent back to you on Mon Aug 25, 2003 11:06:57 AM US/Eastern, and your reply came back to me on Wed, 27 Aug 2003 13:52:21. I think that may explain they delay- sorry for any confusion.
