| MINI2 Newbie | It comes with a heavy heart and after a river of tears that I have to let everyone know that yesterday morning September 19th at 3:07am a mighty oak fell on both of our MINI's. The fury of Isabelle beat our MINI's and I sadly report that the odds are that our Sadie has been totaled. She is not even 3 weeks old and our Eggie has sustained massive damage as well. It's not so much that the house also took a hit but our babies are destroyed. There is hope that Eggie is fixable but Sadie is gone. Her frame bent, and a branch 3 inches in diameter passed through her engine like a massive missile and is embedded. I can sit here and try and explain the damage but I think pictures are worth a thousand words. http://www.hartkecreations.com/ourmini/minidisaster/ ** My other cars a broom ** |

Offline | So sorry to hear of your misfortune. But it could have been much worse, luckily Isabel increased in speed once it hit land and consequently dropped much less rain. Hope you can get back on the road again in a Mini soon. Bill BRG/W MCS with UJ decal & white bonnet stripes |

Offline | Sorry to hear about your car's loss. Be happy that you and your loved ones are OK. Material things can always be replaced. Make your best attempt to get both cars totalled by the insurance company. Having lived thru hurricane Andrew in 1992, I can tell you that you should never take anything for granted. Also, as food for taught, cut, remove or trim down trees that sit or hang too close to your property and cars. Trees are beautiful but unfortunately they do become projectiles during hurricanes and heavy storms. Trees are a huge problem during hurricanes, so may be this is a good time to re-think the layout of your front and backyards. |
