Sorry Curt, after a while, a pet is a member of the family.

That sucks Curt. Sorry to hear that.

Compared to some of the OT stuff that goes on here..........
If people were more like pets the world would be a much better place.

This time it's much more serious, and we're actually lucky we even found it -- most of the time it's not discovered before the dog passes. To top it off, it's not only emotionally draining, but has been quite expensive as well. In the last week we have spent around $1500+, and there are more chemotherapy sessions that she has to go through too, provided she can handle it.

My apologies for taking this thread OT.

Curt,

Don't sweat the OT. You have my empathy and sympathy, as a 2 time cancer survivor and also someone who lost 3 pets this year. We'll pray for strength for you, Alix, and your family.

Head count

April,

Can you give me the latest head count for lunch on Saturday? I'll call the Duck Inn either tomorrow or Thursday. I had lunch there Saturday and they had plenty of seats, so it shouldn't be a problem for us. The weather is supposed to be clear and crisp - high of 59, so it should be a nice drive (better with bun warmers!! )

Last head count was 18, since then we've had three drop outs. So make the reservation for 15, unless you want to add a fudge factor.

It's the time of the year to enjoy the bun warmers again.

Hi AprilWhine!
Is it too late for me to join in? I have been crushed at work, and haven't had a chance to check in on on MINI2. I just ran into a guy in my building, named Bart, who was carrying a MINI mug and we struck up a conversation. He mentioned the meet and I immediatlely logged in. It is great to see a rally in our neck of the woods :-). I would be attending and will probably have 1 friend with me. I would love to join all of you!

David,

You're not too late, we'd love to have you! Did you get the directions from earlier in the thread? The HR Club MINI page is http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/HRclubMINI/ (it's also available on the www link in our signature for April and me) Looking forward to meeting you Saturday morning!

Welcome to the area! Actually, I recall seeing you on I-64 in the HOV lanes a few months ago (before I had my MINI and learned about MINI etiquette ) the MACOSX plate is pretty memorable. As we say - "Friends don't let friends use Microsoft" though we're usually talking Linux!

Rally Day Coming Soon!

All,

We're just a day and a wake up from the Rally, and it's looking to be a lot of fun! I made reservations at the Duck Inn for about 22 people, somewhere between 11AM and 12PM. They're really accomodating, so more or less won't be a problem at all
Right now the weather forecast is for cool and sunny, no rain forecast, so it should be a nice drive, particularly for bun warmer equipped MINIs Remember to print out the directions in case we get split at a light or other traffic snafus occur I'll bring some extras as well. We'll also try to communicate with FRS radios too. Bring cameras for some good pics for the HR Club MINI web page, and be ready for lots of MINI fun!

See you on Saturday!

I apologize for not posting, but I've been debating about this for 2 weeks now!!
--> I have to go I can't miss this...
--> I can't possibly go I have way too much to do....
--> I have to go I can't miss this....
--> I can't possibly go, I have way too much to do....

Last night I was over in Portsmouth and a guy recognized my MINI coffee mug and it turns out he has a Cooper S, so I told him about the meet at Harbor Park, and to look for info on MINI2.... so I guess I'd better go now that I've started inviting people!

I'm off from work today, (but still busy) gotta find time to get the MINI all shiny..
(see you guys tomorrow)

Bart.
We're all too busy with too much to do. That's the whole point to having a good excuse for getting out of it.
